Day 62 - The Dean Village

Today’s shot was taken in the Dean Village.  This is pretty much in the heart of Edinburgh, next to the Water of Leith but originally this was a separate village.  There is a great wikipedia summary here.  According to the article the Dean Village was a grain milling hamlet for over 800 years using the force of the water from the river to power the mills.  Although I have walked through the Dean Village many times and love it, had I not been doing this Project I would never have realised that it was a milling hamlet in the 1800s.  I hope you like the photo.
