Day 67 - Charlotte Square Gardens

Today’s photo is a shot of Charlotte Square Gardens in the west end of Edinburgh which I took during my lunch break today.  The monument in the centre of the garden is of Prince Albert, the consort of Queen Victoria and the building behind the monument is West Register House which was originally a church built in 1814.  I really like this shot the figure of Prince Albert on top of his horse is so regal in centre frame and the garden is surrounded by fantastic buildings.  In summer the garden hosts the Book Festival which is one of my favourite parts of the Edinburgh Festival.

This is an exceptionally beautiful shot. I wonder if it is post-edited a lot or if it just happened to turn out so great without much post-editing needed. Just curiosity of a hobby snapper 🙂

  2. Once again the dramatic Edinburgh sky captured in a poerful shot. I do like awkward angles, but in this case the elements are all in the right place, and I do like in this case the symmetric composition. You shoudl do an exhibition Euan.

Nice picture! Love the slightly spooky feel it gives me!
