This is a shot of the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens.  Taken with my Fuji XF1.

Day 89 - Red Abstraction

Today’s shot is an abstract shot taken with my Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone.  I love the colour and pattern in this one.  Hope you like it.

Day 85 - Inverleith Park

Today’s photo is a long exposure shot taken in Inverleith Park.  I framed the shot so that the trees are in the foreground and you can see the castle in the distance.  The clouds were fairly fast moving and I like the effect created by the long exposure.  It also enabled me to capture the sensation of movement in the trees as they blew in the breeze.

Day 46 - Blistered

Today’s shot is an abstract macro. This is also the first shot on the blog taken with my new Fuji XF1 compact camera.  I love the tone and texture in this image.   The image makes me think of the landscape on Mars or the Moon with craters separated by plains of dust.  I am still learning the best way to make the most of this new camera but I hope you like this image.

Day 2 - Carousel

Day 2 – This is a photo of the Carousel in St Andrews Square in Edinburgh.  I wanted a long exposure to blur the lights but did not have my tripod with me.  This was shot by hand, with my elbows propped up on a ledge to stabilise as much as possible.  This was taken at f8 at ISO 100 for 1.6 secs.
